I watch the world make its mistakes,

History has taught us much,

Except how to be kind.

I wish for a world where hope can be trusted,

Friends don't hurt you,

And love isn't treacherous.

Children are growing up hard,

And we blame everyone, everything but ourselves.

I've grown tired of this world.

But I still wish for a world where tolerance abounds,

Where everything is beautiful,

And living is a joy.

I wish for a world where nothing is a contradiction,

People don't want to die,

And pain is no longer routine.

I wish for a world of happiness,

Where decency is not a weakness.
